No needles or cuts are involved with SoftWave Therapy treatment. There is discomfort during the treatment where tissue damages are present and healing is needed. The SoftWave Therapy machine is both a diagnostic and therapeutic device. Discomfort occurs in response to acoustic shock only in the areas that require healing. The doctor will focus on these specific areas. Typically, the level of discomfort decreases during the session as the inflammation molecules are shut down (one of the immediate benefits of SoftWave Therapy). The intensity of the treatment can be adjusted throughout the session to balance the benefits and comfort.
- The number of treatments varies depending on how chronic the problem is, the size of treatment area, the number of regions of the body needing treatment, and the patient’s health profile. The average treatment program is about 5-10 minutes.

Most conditions require treatments which are done 3-10 days apart depending on the patient’s tolerance and their tissue repsonse.
